You're right about the backround...I put this one together rather quickly, and it's a time saver. I do it occasionally in Futurama as well, although it is getting fun to create simple backrounds http://gulliver63.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d4kfizb and http://gulliver63.deviantart.com/art/Br ... -161847314 . In Futurama they can be really simple, although that wall pattern in the cocoon couldn't be that hard to ape. I prefer vector backrounds, as you can burn markers out in a hurry doing a full backround with them. I find that some sort of backround, any sort of backround is a necessity - if you just throw a cartoon onto a white backround, people tend to ignore it.
